OCW TRAINING SCHEDULE FOR 2009!! TRAINING FOR THOSE SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS THE BEAR
WILL BE HELD EVERY SATURDAY IN 2009 7:30AM NORTHWOOD PLAZA IRVINE ON THE CORNER OF CULVER
AND IRVINE BLVD WITH PARKING NEXT TO JACK IN THE BOX WE WILL BE STARTING IN JANUARY 2009 WITH 40+ MILE
RIDES WITH MILD CLIMBING AT A MODERATE ÒSPINÓ PACE WE WILL THEN LEAD UP GRADUALLY TO MORE MILES AND MORE
CLIMBING BY MAY ALL RIDERS SHOULD HAVE SOME PACK EXPERIENCE AND BE
ABLE TO SUSTAIN A FAIRLY MODERATE PACED RIDE THERE WILL BE NO SPRINTING!! AS WE WILL BE FOCUSING ON ENDURANCE
TRAINING FOR LONG DISTANCE RIDES REMEMBER LONG DISTANCE RIDES ARE NOT WON BY
SPRINTING! INSTEAD WE WILL FOCUS
ON ENDURANCE BY KEEPING A MODERATE PACE SO YOU CAN FINISH A CENTURY WITH
CONFIDENCE AND SUSTAINED POWER NEW : ALSO
STARTING IN JANUARY WILL BE WEDNESDAY MORNING
HILL TRAINING (MOVED FROM TUESDAY) THE WEDNESDAY MORNING RIDES WILL ALTERNATE HILL REPEATS
AND SINGLE ROUTE HILL TRAINING EACH WEEK. WHEN USED IN COMBINATION WITH SATURDAY DISTANCE TRAINING THESE
RIDES WILL HELP TRAIN YOU FOR THOSE MOUNTAINOUS CENTURIES AND/OR DOUBLES LOOK FOR NEW ROUTES FOR WEDNESDAY MORNING! COME JOIN US! |
